Out of respect to the Royal Family of Great Britain we have updated and reuploaded our trumpet versions of God Save the King and God Save the Queen. These are now available on this website and our YouTube Channel.
This new play along version of God Save the King was adapted from a very old version dating from 1916.
It largely sounds like the usual version but it does have some splendid nuanced harmonies that you might notice if you listen carefully. It’s delightful really.
It’s written in the traditional wind band key of concert F Major. G major for us treble clef brass players.
God Save the King and God Save the Queen have always sounded identical but have changes in lyrics. As our versions have no words they are interchangeable, musically.
For those of you who are bass clef players, don’t worry. I’ve also done a bass clef version and uploaded it to our YouTube channel. You can play along with it on there.
So feel free to respectfully use these versions of God Save the King for Trumpet over the next few weeks.
